MEET THE EXECUTIVE TEAM

TONY ATKINS

After graduating from Conestoga College (President’s Honour List), Tony Atkins started a contract security firm with Gary Arthur in the Kitchener/Waterloo area. Soon, the company would grow to offer security and medical responder services to all of Southern Ontario and the GTA as they successfully built the firm into a multi-million-dollar company with over three hundred and fifty (350) employees. Tony is currently a member of the Faculty (part time) at Conestoga College in the Law and Security Administration Program, as well as being a member of the Colleges’ Program Advisory Committee. Tony holds certificates in CPTED, Emergency Preparedness, Bomb Threat Assessment, and Use of Force. Tony has been requested on numerous occasions to act as an Industry consultant for CTV, one of which involved a 3-part series in 2011 regarding Ministry Regulated Training & Testing. Tony has been a Chair of CSIS (Canadian Society of Industrial Security), Southwestern Ontario Chapter. Tony is actively involved in the community with such organizations as Masonic Lodge, Shrine International, as well as proudly supporting local hockey by being an active Alumni of the Kitchener Rangers and coaching in KMHA.

GARY ARTHUR

With over 30 years of experience in corporate sales, Gary Arthur is able to coordinate with partners to accurately and effectively highlight the security services that best meet the needs of a given site or event. Gary has extensive experience handling over one hundred and fifty (150) trade shows and special events across Southern Ontario & the GTA. An event Gary is proud to provide services for is the CGTA (Canadian Gift and Tableware Association), the nationally renowned largest trade show in Canada. Gary is known in the industry as always being a top professional and it is with this reputation that Tone-Gar has come to have an honourable and reliable reputation for the services the company provides. Gary not only sells our services but is regularly in attendance of them to ensure our client’s needs remain the priority no matter what.

EDIZ KEMAL
 
General Manager

After graduating from Conestoga College’s specialized studies in Police Foundations (Dean’s Honour List), Ediz Kemal started his career working as a security guard, loss prevention officer and private investigator. Ediz has been employed with Tone-Gar Security Services Inc. since 2006. Ediz then worked hard to earn his way up the ranks to become the company’s Operations Manager before being promoted to General Manager in 2022. Ediz has many qualifications in the industry such as being certified in the Professional Security Training Network, Tactical Communications, The Task Force Program, Advanced Background Interviewing Techniques, Canadian Firearms Safety Course, Use of Force & Self Defense, Handcuffing & Expandable Impact Weapons, Health & Safety, Close Protection, Conflict Management and Risk Management along with many others. Our General Manager is a key part of our management team as Ediz oversees high-level HR duties, such as attracting talent, setting training standards and hiring procedures. Ediz also analyses organizational processes so that he can work towards improving the quality, productivity and efficiency of our company. Ediz works closely with customers and prides himself on being readily available to our clients for special events even after the 9-5 workday. No matter what, Ediz ensures Tone-Gar rises to any challenge so that our community’s health and safety remains our top company concern.

TREENA DIDINE
 
GTA Operations Manager/ Frontline Director Of Sales & Business Development

Treena joined the Tone-Gar branch of companies in 2004 as a paramedic. She brings with her over 20 years’ experience in safety, medical and security for special events. She is a graduate of Loyalist College in the Pre-Hospital Care Program, where she attained her diploma in Paramedicine. Additionally, Treena holds a diploma from Sheridan College in Development Disabilities, as well as certificates in Disaster Services, Emergency Lodging, Conflict and Confrontation and Drug and Alcohol Abuse. Treena is a First Aid/CPR/Defibrillator Instructor and has written WSIB approved program manuals for the use of both instructors and students. Currently, Treena sits on the Emergency Planning committee for Emergency Response at the International Centre and is active in training security and corporate personnel in Health and Safety protocols; including security risk assessments and response training for Trade and Consumer shows.
